Making of a paper canoe

In January 2025, I set out to make a 12’ canoe completely out of paper. Using a sassafras wood canoe that I had made from a CNC kit in my Brooklyn apartment, I glued over 12 layers of linoleum block-printed paper, primarily a 24” moth over the base. After drying completely, I removed the paper canoe and finished it with mahogany decks. The photos here are from an installation at Hecho a Mano Gallery, Santa Fe, NM.
